how did kinesiology come about?
Physiotherapists and sports therapists are familiar with kinesiology - the study of movement. It was the chiropractor George Goodheart who, in the early 60s, discovered ‘applied kinesiology’. In other words, he learned to interpret the results that he found when he exerted pressure on a limb to test how a specific muscle was working.
George found that if a muscle wasn’t as strong as the other muscles, he could rub treatment points on the body that acted like switches and turned the muscle back on to full strength. He realised that if he stimulated certain acupuncture meridians, it would also restore a muscle’s strength and that each muscle shared a circuit with a meridian and an organ. This discovery allowed him get to the root of why some people’s hip, back or knee pain was not improving, or why they needed regular adjustments because treatment would not hold.
He discovered that he was able to identify and correct muscle malfunctions by finding the cause of their distress. Things causing the issue could be an emotional stress, nutritional imbalance, or an acupuncture meridian imbalance. He could then apply the best treatment for his patient’s underlying problems. Treatments worked really well and ‘held’ a lot longer. Since Dr Goodheart’s original discoveries, other practitioners have developed kinesiology into the amazing diagnostic tool it is today.
how does remote kinesiology work?
Using “surrogate” muscle testing, once I have energetic permission to work with you I connect in with your energetic field and use self-muscle testing to surrogate for the person receiving the treatment, updating the client as I go of all significant things which come up causing imbalances in the body and once balanced I will send it back to you. Remote kinesiology is very effective and I've had excellent results and shifts with my clients across the globe.
Generally people with a deeper conviction in Holistic Healing practices and Quantum Physics embrace the practice more readily. If you have some reservations or questions, please feel free to get in touch.
What are Meridian Tuning Forks?
Tuning forks are a sound healing tool which have been calibrated to the vibration of the 14 main meridians of the body, if the body requires it; we will use sound in a session to correct an imbalance and bring the vibration of the body back into homeostasis.
What are Flower Essences?
Flowers carry a vibrational energy pattern, within my clinic I stock 107 different flower remedies which all help to support various array of imbalances. In clinic I would muscle monitor to find out how many drops the client requires, and, if they are to be ingested or rubbed into an acupoint, often an affirmation will come with it to read, all which helps the body to come back into balance. Essences have been created through the process of collecting the vibrational signatures of specific flowers and plants and then imprinted into a solution of water and brandy which is used as a preservative.
What are Homeopathic vials?
One of the exciting breakthroughs that we’ve had in the last 15 years is the use of test vials. These homeopathically-charged vials give us a great deal of information when we place them within the patient’s electromagnetic field (usually on the Naval area) then test their muscle response.
The vials are placed on the body one by one. The frequencies from the vials may alter the response of the muscle being tested, which enables us to find out key imbalances that need to be treated. Kinesiology is based on the fact that body language never lies. Sometimes we don’t understand it, but it is constantly expressing externally what is going on internally. As a kinesiologist I can tune into this and help facilitate this healing process. Yes, the body’s responses are without error and it has an innate wisdom. So let it tell us its own story!
I have thousands of homeopathic vials, for example if working with hormones - ie specific vials for oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone's etc. Other vials include Nutritional, Digestion, Blood, Immune and Vaccinations to name a few.
what do i wear to a session?
I advise you wear comfortable clothing as you will be laying on a massage table and I may need to do muscle tests on muscles throughout the body - ie to check Psoas muscle I may need to lift your legs in the air so a skirt or dress may not be ideal. If you tend to feel cool socks may be a good idea but don't worry if you forget as I have cosy blankets in clinic you are more than welcome to use. You will stay fully clothed throughout the balance. With remote sessions you can wear as much or as little as you choose!.
How long does a balance take and how many will I need ??
Please allow up to 2 hours for the initial balance and approx 90 minutes for follow up sessions. If you are new to kinesiology I recommend an initial kinesiology consultation followed by between 3 – 5 standard consultations 1 -2 weeks apart with lifestyle changes incorporated between sessions. You should expect to see results within 3 – 5 sessions.
Why is muscle monitoring is important?
Since Kinesiology is the study of movement, a muscle is used as the biofeedback device that enables the practitioner to gather information about what is happening on a subconscious level for the client, once thoughts and beliefs systems which are no longer serving are brought to conscious awareness, great shifts in thinking and health occur.
what can I expect after a kinesiology session?
During a session energetic blocks, resistances and issues which have been occurring and affecting your wellbeing will be altered, transformed and released. The by-product of this is a change in your life, generally long lasting and frequently profound. You may find your self been more reflective as an understanding of underlining issues are realised and inner wisdom 'awakening' can occur.
Dreams or big emotions may come up and be a release of the stress from your body, it may come in the form of anger, pain or joy and new-happiness, tears or other emotions. These are all great indicators that change is happening so just let whatever comes up to show and time for it to pass. A sense of relief is often felt which can last a while (it's important to remember long lasting issues can have many layers of stress so may need a few sessions to heal).
Energy movement happens in waves and cycles your body will need time to adjust and tiredness is common for a couple of days whilst your body deals with the release of long term issues/trauma and stress. Allowing yourself time to rest is important. Keeping well hydrated as the body moves toxins out of the body so it is important to drink plenty of water for 48 hours after the session. Magnesium supplementation twill also help to support the process. If you are unsure of anything after your session please contact me.
What is a Tei-shin?
Kinesiology uses a lot of acupressure techniques, instead of insertive needles like you would get with acupuncture; In my clinic I use a teishin which is an needle like probe which does not puncture the skin, this acupressure tool is used on acupoints to stimulate and move energy through the meridian system. Teishin Needleless acupuncture is not as well known as acupuncture, however, it has been used in China and many Asian countries, long before acupuncture was used with needles.
Therefore, if you have been researching acupuncture, but you are anxious or have fear/phobia of needles and especially for children, it's a much preferred tool! Generally when people picture acupuncture, one of the first things that comes to mind is lots of tiny needles, which are inserted into the skin across the body. Although a Teishin, it a needle-like instrument, it is not essential for the needles to actually be inserted.
What are essential oils?
Essential oils are basically plant extracts. They are made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves or fruit) to capture the compounds that produce fragrance. When inhaled, the scent molecules in essential oil will travel from the olfactory nerves directly to the brain and impact the amygdala, which is the emotional centre of the brain. Essential oils can also be absorbed by the skin. It can take several pounds of a plant to produce a single bottle of essential oil.
